Senior Consultant - Healthcare Financial Transformation - Clinical Integrity (Surgical Coding, CDI)

About the role

Clinical Integrity Senior Consultants are responsible for client management, solution implementation, and generating project results. They own project workstreams and interact with clients daily to ensure engagement success. Managing Consultants oversee client engagements from start to finish, managing the project team and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operational meetings with client sponsors and consulting leaders
• Prepare and communicate well-organized, effective reports and presentations to clients and internal executives
• Lead, coach, and mentor junior consultants and ensure quality deliverables
• Develop and manage work plans, staffing, deadlines, and budgets for multiple complex projects
• Lead team meetings, guide, manage, and coach consultants and senior consultants, providing constructive feedback on project participation and career development
• Keep Directors and Partners informed of project progress and important developments
• Support practice development

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Clinical Administration, or RN licensure in HIM or Clinical Documentation Improvement
• HIM or Clinical Documentation Improvement certification through AHIMA, AAPC, or ACDIS (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CDIP, CCDS)
• 5+ years of experience in Clinical Documentation Specialist or Inpatient Coding roles
• Strong MS-DRG/APR-DRG coding experience
• Strong ICD-10-CM/PCS diagnosis and surgical coding experience
• Understanding of coding and diagnosis capture for risk adjustment
• Understanding of leading practice CDI key performance indicators, financial impact, and optimized processes
• Advanced analytical and data manipulation skills using Excel
• Ability to clearly convey the value and impact of OP IP CDI executives and hospital leadership
• Willingness to travel to client sites across the United States up to 75%

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in business or related field
• 2+ years financial analysis experience in a health-related organization
• Experience with diverse range of EMR systems
• Technical EMR expertise of the revenue cycle management modules (EMR certification[s] and/or build experience highly desired)
• Program design experience
• Documentation program development

Skills

Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $89,000.00-$148,000.00.
