Senior Consultant - Forensic Accounting & Damages (Full-Time)
Main Duties
Leading Analysis & Discovery Support: Oversee the "heavy lifting" of technical financial analyses and investigations. Perform detailed financial analysis and develop financial models from transactional and other financial data for use in expert reports.
Project & People Management: Serve as the primary supervisor for junior consultants. Manage daily workflows, perform quality control reviews of staff work, and mentor team members. Also manage budgets and project schedules, and timely report findings and progress to management.
Client Engagement: Act as a central point of contact for clients and legal counsel. Lead data collection efforts, provide project status updates, and participate in meetings to discuss preliminary findings and strategy.
Expert Reporting & Exhibits: Assist with drafting expert reports, rebuttals, and memos, and prepare visual exhibits for use in arbitration or trial.
Business Development Support: Assist leadership in the growth of the practice by contributing to the preparation of proposals, industry presentations, and attending networking events.
Education/Knowledge
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related analytical field is required.
A Master’s degree (MBA or MAcc) and professional certifications such as CPA or CFE are highly preferred.
Technical Expertise
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory (complex formulas, data modeling, and visualization).
Experience with database management or specialized accounting software (e.g., Deltek, QuickBooks) is a plus.
Industry Knowledge
Familiarity with construction accounting, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), or commercial litigation procedures is highly desirable.
Skills & Abilities
Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to articulate technical findings clearly to both internal leadership and external clients.
Professional Rigor: A high degree of discretion and attention to detail. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strict, court-mandated deadlines.
Qualifications
2 to 10 years of experience in forensic accounting, audit, or claims consulting.
Depending on your depth of experience and leadership track record, this position ranges from Senior Consultant to Associate Director.
