Senior Consultant - Financial Services - Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services - Modeling

Responsibilities
- Play significant roles in client engagement teams in the financial modeling area of our practice, in a wide variety of projects including: Model development and optimization, Model validations and efficiency assessments, Actuarial transformation, Mergers and Acquisitions, Financial and regulatory reporting
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or another related major
- Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience
- Familiar with at least one prominent actuarial modeling software platforms, including but not limited to: Moodys GGY AXIS, FIS Prophet, Milliman ALFA/Integrate, Aon Benfield PathWise, Slope, PolySystems, among others
- Strong writing, presentation, conceptual, analytical, project management, and interpersonal skills
- A proven ability to manage time while working on multiple, often shifting, projects, and the confidence to work both collaboratively and independently under pressure
- Willingness and ability to travel to meet client needs
Qualifications
- Familiar with at least two key platform library coding modules specific to actuarial modeling platforms (asset, liability, economic-related modules)
- Familiar with solution design and translation of business requirements into modeling solutions
- Familiar with model staging and development, including coding, data transformation and prep, batch creation and automation, assumption management, and extraction/manipulation of model output
- Familiar with model development lifecycle processes and activities, including model change management, unit and user acceptance testing procedures
- Knowledge of US Life, Health and Annuity products, including prominent features, product dynamics, and key modeling considerations. Associated regulations, including STAT/GAAP reporting with considerations of emerging frameworks (such as VM-22)
- Familiar with asset modeling and ALM-related concepts, including asset model staging, processing data from externally projected asset sources, asset/liability interaction modeling, reinvestment modeling, and management of run time/fidelity trade-offs
- Experience with open-source coding paradigms such as Python, R, Julia, others
- Project management experience and ability to handle teams and multiple stakeholders

- Develop a strong personal brand and enhance the EY brand by writing articles, participating in industry groups and speaking at seminars
- Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment, counseling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization

Pay
The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $110,500 to $202,700. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $132,600 to $230,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
