About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Consultant to join our Financial Services Consulting practice as a Forward Deployed Business Analyst (FDBA). This is not a traditional Business Analyst role. As an FDBA, you will be embedded with client teams to own business outcomes, leveraging data, analytics, and AI to deliver smarter solutions and meaningful transformation across financial services organizations. You will act as a strategic advisor, AI operator, and execution partner, using AI to eliminate administrative work and focus on enhanced decision-making, problem-solving, and solution design.
Responsibilities
- AI-Enabled Consulting Delivery: Apply traditional consulting tools and emerging AI-enabled platforms (no-code, low-code, automation, analytics) to accelerate research, analysis, documentation, prototyping, process mapping, and stakeholder alignment. Define agent responsibilities, decision boundaries, escalation paths, and human-in-the-loop controls to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation within financial services.
- Client Engagement & Delivery: Work directly with client business, operations, product, data, and technology teams to understand strategic objectives, operational challenges, technical constraints, and desired business outcomes.
- Strategic Problem Solving: Assess current-state processes, systems, data flows, risks, and dependencies to identify root causes, evaluate business impacts, and design strategic initiatives (e.g., operating model transformation, system implementations, process optimization).
- Technical Business Analysis: Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, process flows, data requirements, business rules, and solution documentation, bridging business stakeholders and technical teams with AI support.
- Solution Design & Implementation Support: Partner with product owners, engineers, architects, and data teams to support solution design, workflow optimization, integration planning, UAT, validation, and implementation readiness across front, middle, and back-office platforms.
- Workstream Ownership & Execution: Own assigned tasks and deliverables by managing timelines, tracking risks, issues, and dependencies, and proactively communicating progress to drive initiatives from analysis through execution.
- Client-Ready Communication & Deliverables: Prepare structured, polished materials, including presentations, executive summaries, business cases, impact assessments, process documentation, and stakeholder communications for internal and client audiences.
- Internal Firm Support: Contribute to proposals, business development, and thought leadership, sharing perspectives on digital, data, and AI trends within financial services.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, AI Engineering & Computing, Computer Science, Data Science, Financial Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Relevant Experience: 3+ years of work experience in financial services demonstrating business problem-solving, analytical thinking, and professional communication. Experience leveraging AI tools for research, analysis, or deliverable development is valued; management consulting experience is preferred.
- AI-Enabled Technical Proficiency: Foundational ability to use AI/GenAI tools, prompt engineering, and modern productivity platforms to accelerate business analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation while applying responsible AI governance.
- Traditional Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, JIRA/Confluence, PowerBI/Tableau, and SQL for advanced data analysis, insights, and presentations.
- Consulting Skillset: Strong communication, analytical thinking, attention to detail, ownership, and teamwork. Ability to synthesize ambiguity, ask thoughtful questions, and drive work in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Financial Services Knowledge: Foundational understanding of or demonstrated interest in financial services, including products, operations, regulatory requirements, technology, and business processes.
