About the role

Unison Consulting, Inc., a Paslay Group company, has spent more than 37 years helping airports navigate their most complex challenges. From finance and economics to concessions and strategic planning, we've advised over 150 airports, including 18 of the 25 busiest within the U.S., and earned a reputation for bringing genuinely new thinking to an industry that rewards it. That reputation is built entirely by our people: curious, driven, and unafraid to challenge how things have always been done.

Shape the financial future of the airports people rely on. Every new terminal, concourse, and rental car facility starts as a question of money: can the airport carry the debt, will the airlines accept the rates, and will the bond market believe the forecast? As Senior Consultant - Finance at Unison, you build the models that answer those questions and the analysis that airport executives, airlines, and rating agencies act on. Our finance practice has prepared feasibility studies supporting General Airport Revenue Bonds, PFC-backed bonds, special facility bonds, rental car facility bonds, and FAA Letter of Intent bonds, for clients ranging from Chicago O'Hare and LAX to small regional airports across the U.S., Canada, South America, and the Caribbean. You'll work in that stream directly: building the rate models that carry the financial terms of an Airline Use and Lease Agreement, running sensitivity and Monte Carlo scenarios on rates and charges, and writing the financial chapter that makes a capital program defensible.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain the models behind financial feasibility studies, capital funding analyses, and airline rates and charges studies.
  • Develop multi-year revenue and expense projections, operating and capital budgets, and debt service schedules that reflect real use agreements, bond covenants, and industry benchmarks.
  • Run scenario, sensitivity, and variance analysis, and explain in plain terms what is driving the change in results.
  • Prepare the financial analysis behind PFC and CFC programs, federal grant strategy, and alternative funding sources for client capital programs.
  • Support rate-setting methodology decisions, cost allocation, and airline lease and use agreement negotiations - and bond feasibility work alongside bond counsel, underwriters, and rating agencies.
  • Write the reports and present the findings: client-ready memoranda, financial chapters of master plans, and recommendations delivered to airport leadership and governing bodies.

What You Bring

  • 5-7 years in financial analysis, modeling, and budgeting. Real depth in one of two directions: airport, airline, aviation authority, or aviation consulting experience with a working command of airport funding and rate setting - or ownership of complex, multi-year financial models and budgets you built and defended yourself.
  • Advanced Excel, in the modeling sense: multi-tab models, scenario and sensitivity work, and assumptions you can document.
  • A background in a rate-based or regulated environment - municipal or public finance, infrastructure, transportation, utilities - including working knowledge of bond structures, debt service coverage, and rate covenants.
  • Airport or consulting firm experience preferred.
  • The communication skills to turn a model into a recommendation, in writing and in the room with executives and public stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, aviation management, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
