About the role

Come join Baker Tilly's Development Advisory (DA) team as a Senior Consultant. You will work with developers, investors, lenders, public-sector entities, and other market participants on a variety of energy and infrastructure projects. You will support engagements involving federal energy tax incentives, tax credit transactions, project financial model development, project finance advisory, and transaction due diligence.

What you will do

  • Gain hands-on experience in energy and community development advisory.
  • Participate in technical training and development programs designed to provide tools for client engagements.
  • Receive on-the-job training through real work engagements.
  • Learn directly from experienced managers and partners with specialized industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Support energy tax credit advisory engagements, including reviews of project eligibility, credit calculations, and supporting documentation.
  • Support energy and infrastructure transactions and financing activities, including tax credit transfers, tax equity investments, project financing, acquisitions, and sales processes.
  • Develop project financial models to support client project evaluation and financing activities.
  • Perform financial and commercial due diligence for energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Participate in client meetings, diligence calls, and interviews with project stakeholders.
  • Assist with proposals, presentations, and market research.
  • Assist in development of articles, sales proposals, and presentations for new business development and client purposes.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, supply chain, engineering, or manufacturing-related field (preferred).
  • Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, project finance, transaction advisory, or energy tax incentives (preferred).
  • Familiarity with energy tax credits, tax credit transfers, tax equity, or the Inflation Reduction Act (preferred).
  • Demonstrated skills in time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving.
  • Organizational and analytical skills, initiative, adaptability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience building financial models incorporating income statements and cash flows to support business decisions (preferred).
  • Experience with core financial processes (e.g., monthly close, financial reporting) (preferred).

Pay

The US National pay rate range for this position is $84,000–$164,300. Actual compensation is influenced by skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location.
