Senior Consultant
About the role
The Senior Consultant will join Wolf's Strategic Consulting Services group, a well-established national firm known for its expertise in financial planning, forecasting, and modeling, particularly within banking and financial institutions.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed financial projections, forecasts, and multi-scenario models to support strategic planning initiatives for banking clients.
Analyze and interpret bank financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and key performance metrics.
Utilize S&P Capital IQ to research peer data, industry trends, and benchmark performance.
Translate complex financial analyses into clear, actionable insights and client-ready deliverables.
Build, refine, and maintain advanced Excel-based financial models, including forecasting, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis.
Support capital planning, profitability analysis, and strategic decision-making initiatives.
Identify risks, opportunities, and key drivers impacting financial performance.
Act independently to structure analyses and develop innovative solutions tailored to client needs.
Contribute to the design of new analytical tools, methodologies, and frameworks for the Strategic Consulting Services group.
Collaborate with engagement leaders to scope work, manage timelines, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Collaborate with other consultants and subject matter experts across Wolf’s advisory practices.
Participate in internal knowledge sharing, best practice development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support business development efforts through analysis, proposal support, and thought leadership as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (advanced degree a plus).
3 - 4 years of relevant experience in financial planning, forecasting, or consulting, preferably serving banking or financial institution clients.
Strong understanding of bank financial statements, regulatory considerations, and industry performance metrics.
Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, scenario modeling, and financial model design.
Experience with S&P Capital IQ is a plus, but the key requirement is the ability to work effectively with large data sets.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality results.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
A high attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a problem-solving mindset.
