Senior Consultant

Role Summary

We are seeking a senior SAP techno-functional consultant whose core expertise is SAP Project Systems (PS) — Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) design and full project lifecycle management — with strong FICO integration depth and the ability to understand, trace, and document the integration touchpoints between SAP FICO and the client's SAP BRIM billing landscape. The client runs BRIM in production for high-volume sales and subscription billing; what this role requires is a consultant who understands BRIM architecture well enough to map how billing results flow into core financials — Convergent Invoicing to FICA posting, FICA transfer to FI-GL, reconciliation, and revenue impacts — and can document those integrations authoritatively during a knowledge transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Own functional and technical support for SAP PS: WBS structures, project profiles, network activities, milestone billing, budgeting/availability control, results analysis, settlement, and tight integration with CO, FI, MM, and SD.
• Understand and document the FICO↔BRIM integration landscape, including:
  • How billing/invoicing documents in Convergent Invoicing (CI) generate FICA posting documents
  • FICA-to-FI-GL transfer: reconciliation keys, aggregated posting, transfer runs, and closing activities
  • Reconciliation between FICA sub-ledger and the general ledger; identifying and resolving breaks
  • Account determination and posting logic on the FICO side of the BRIM boundary
  • Revenue flows and, where applicable, integration with Revenue Accounting (RAR)
• Interface inventory: middleware connections (CPI/PI-PO), IDoc/BAPI/RFC patterns, and batch jobs crossing the FICO–BRIM boundary
• Produce authoritative integration documentation: interface catalogs, data-flow diagrams, posting-logic rationale, reconciliation procedures, and runbooks — as primary deliverables of the knowledge takeover.
• Analyze, document, and take ownership of existing custom developments (user exits, BAdIs, enhancements, custom reports/interfaces) from incumbent vendor teams within a defined transition window.
• Conduct structured knowledge transfer: shadow incumbent teams, validate documentation, execute reverse-KT playback sessions, and sign off on support readiness.
• Serve as an escalation point for incidents spanning PS, FICO, and the FICO–BRIM boundary (posting failures, reconciliation breaks, stuck transfer runs); perform root cause analysis and drive permanent fixes.
• Work with globally distributed delivery teams; provide onsite coordination, requirements clarification, and stakeholder communication.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of SAP experience with a techno-functional profile (able to both configure and read/debug ABAP).
• Core: Deep hands-on expertise in SAP PS — WBS element design, project structuring, networks and activities, milestone billing, results analysis, settlement, and PS–FI/CO integration.
• Strong FICO foundation: GL, account determination, sub-ledger/GL reconciliation concepts, and period-end close — enough to own the financial side of any billing integration.
• Working understanding of SAP BRIM architecture — the roles of SOM, Convergent Charging, Convergent Invoicing, and FICA in the order-to-cash flow — with practical exposure to at least the CI→FICA→GL leg (hands-on FICA/FICO-side experience acceptable; full-suite BRIM delivery experience not required).
• Demonstrated experience in at least one vendor-to-vendor or team-to-team knowledge transition (taking over, not handing off), with documentation as a primary deliverable.
• Ability to independently debug ABAP to trace issues across module boundaries.
• Based in the Houston, TX metro area (or committed to relocating before start) and able to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week.

• ECC-to-S/4 migration or conversion exposure.
• Exposure to Solution Manager / ITSM-driven support models under SLAs.
• SAP certification in PS, FICO, FICA, or Integration.

Salary Range

$74,500 to $150,000
