Senior Construction Superintendent

About the role

TEEL Construction is seeking a Senior Superintendent to join our dynamic Field team and diverse portfolio of projects. The Senior Superintendent position encompasses all the aspects of their projects and is jointly responsible for the overall success of their team member’s assigned projects as a Team Lead for the company.

This position oversees and participates in the allocation of resources to ensure a safe, timely, and quality project, all while achieving and improving the profit margin. The Senior Superintendent is a primary contact with the owner, trade partners, suppliers, and other company personnel.

Responsibilities

The Senior Superintendent has various key performance areas, including:

• Team Lead & Leadership Responsibilities: maintaining owner and trade partner relationships, supporting Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Laborers, and providing input on project risk analysis and mitigation strategies
• PROJECT SITE SUPPORT: providing leadership by example, creating and conducting weekly trade partner planning meetings, and reviewing the budget weekly
• SCHEDULE: driving the project schedule to ensure contract requirements are met or exceeded, maintaining maximum project efficiency and management of costs, and recording additional labor/manpower onsite in Procore
• QUALITY & SAFETY: supervising the layout and installation of all work performed, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and local building codes and laws, and enforcing all workmanship meets or exceeds industry quality standards

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Thorough working knowledge of commercial building standards, specifications, codes, regulations, and laws
• Knowledge of commercial construction techniques with 10 years’ experience in construction and at least 5 years in a leadership position
• Effective communication skills; both verbal and written
• OSHA 30 certified with working knowledge of OSHA regulations
• Computer and other technology skills with working competencies in Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft 365

Working Conditions

This position requires frequent field visits, with 90% of time spent in the field and 10% in the office, or as necessary.
