Senior Construction Project Manager

Tusco is looking for an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. 📍 This position can be based out of either of our Alabama offices in:Cottondale (Tuscaloosa area)Bessemer (Birmingham area) This is more than a traditional Project Manager role. As a Senior Project Manager at Tusco, you'll take ownership of complex construction projects while also serving as a mentor, resource, and leader for Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers across the team. You'll manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, help solve high-level project challenges, strengthen relationships with clients and partners, and work alongside our Director of Project Management to continuously improve how our team operates. Tusco's perimeter security solutions help protect people, critical infrastructure, government and military facilities, data centers, and other high-security environments across the country. What you'll do:Lead assigned construction projects from preconstruction through execution and closeoutServe as the primary point of contact for clients and take ownership of the overall customer experienceManage project budgets, schedules, procurement, quality, risk, change management, forecasting, and closeoutLead interdepartmental teams to deliver projects safely, accurately, on time, and within budgetMentor and support Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, helping develop their project management capabilities and knowledge of Tusco best practicesProvide guidance on submittals, RFIs, procurement, deliveries, documentation, safety, quality control, budgeting, forecasting, change management, negotiations, dispute resolution, and closeoutReview project financials, cost projections, and billing projections to ensure accurate and thorough reportingSupport subcontractor procurement, contract scope development, and subcontractor managementHelp identify and resolve high-level project risks, manpower constraints, and execution challengesPartner with leadership to identify and implement improvements to Project Management processes and proceduresCollaborate across Project Management, Operations, Compliance, Payroll, and other departments to support successful project executionHelp ensure compliance with contractual requirements and applicable federal, state, local, industry, and company standards What we're looking for:5-10+ years of related construction industry experienceProven experience managing construction projects through the full project lifecycleStrong knowledge of project financials, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, procurement, risk, and change managementDemonstrated leadership and the ability to mentor and develop other project management professionalsStrong client-facing skills with the ability to build lasting customer, vendor, and subcontractor relationshipsExcellent communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsAbility to navigate complex project challenges and make sound decisionsStrong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing prioritiesProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and BluebeamA bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field is preferred.PMP, PSP, or comparable project management certifications are also preferred.
