About the role
AECOM is seeking a Senior Construction Project Engineer to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on-site at Pituffik Space Base in Greenland.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of contractor compliance with contract requirements and standards in accordance with the USACE 3-Phase inspection program, including evaluation of inspection levels, testing procedures, and deficiency correction documentation.
- Complete and maintain comprehensive field records, including daily reports documenting work performed, field measurements, computations, and observations.
- Participate in technical review of submittals and development plans to ensure conformity to USACE standards and specifications.
- Document construction observations and issue discrepancy notices for non-compliant items.
- Attend and participate in construction progress meetings and contractor weekly project meetings.
- Perform infrastructure walkthroughs and develop punch lists as required.
- Provide construction photographs to document progress and problem areas.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, USACE requirements, and building codes during construction of utility equipment.
- Participate in tests, demonstrations, and field instructions with appropriate personnel.
- Resolve conflicts related to construction installation.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: HS + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- US Citizen
- Knowledge of the USACE Three Phase Inspection Process
- Knowledge of EM 385-1 Safety Requirements
- CQM Certification
- Retired Military
Preferred Requirements
- 10 years of experience as a construction project inspector on large complex multimillion dollar DoD construction projects.
Benefits
This assignment will be located in Pituffik Space Base in Greenland. Candidates need to be able and willing to reside and work on-site for an expected duration of 10-12 months, with travel back to the United States approximately every two months for 2 weeks time-off.
