Senior Construction Manager

About the role

The Sr. CM is responsible for driving the project's safety, productivity, and quality in the field, minimizing risks, and completing the work in the best interests of QISG, our clients, and our co-workers. The Sr. CM reports to and supports the Project Manager with all facets of project planning, execution, controls, and closeout to maintain or improve the balance between scope, budget, time, and quality. The Sr. CM also supervises all field operations on assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates field construction
• Administers the prime contract and construction subcontracts and purchase orders
• Maintains or improves the balance between scope, budget, time, and quality for subcontracts and purchase orders
• Originates, reviews, and/or responds to Requests for Information (RFI) and Submittals for constructability
• Manages and controls the project budget, schedule, and quality through effective change management
• Enforces the project’s QA/QC standards and coordinates QA/QC actions with subcontractors and suppliers
• Enforces the project’s Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and coordinates with subcontractors and suppliers to implement their own safety actions
• Works with the Project Manager to prepare and update project schedules and status reports, pay requests, and daily, weekly, and monthly progress, budget, and schedule management reports
• Handles project setup and temporary facilities
• Manages field document control
• Takes progress photographs
• Owns the project’s Short Interval Schedule (aka 3-4 week Look Ahead schedule)
• Objectively assesses the weekly work status of Physical Percent Complete (PPC) for the overall project
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
• Performs special projects and completes other duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

• Ten (10) + years’ progressive experience in various aspects of the power delivery industry (specifically in the field)
• This would include, but is not limited to, hands-on construction, supervision, construction management, audit and inspection of substation and overhead transmission lines, scheduling, cost controls, safety, quality, and risk
• Thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment
• High school diploma, or equivalent, required
• Strong experience with civil/earthwork and concrete construction
• A Journeyman Lineman or Power Systems Electrician with inspection experience
• Experience supervising a team
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management, or equivalent
• OSHA 30 training certification
• Experience with Procore, SharePoint, scheduling software (Primavera P6), and/or Project Management software(s)
• Experience with estimating processes

• Travel Requirements: Yes, up to 85%

Pay

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $160,000.00/Yr. - USD $190,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
