Senior Construction Manager
About the role
As a Senior Construction Manager, you’ll serve as the Director of a Design and Construction team supporting the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (MTA) Real Estate portfolio. You’ll serve as the critical link between senior MTA Real Estate leadership, retail tenants and sub-tenant teams (architects, general contractors, electricians), master tenants and the agencies within the MTA (New York City Transit, Long Island Railroad and Metro North Railroad) facilitating retail buildouts and openings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct briefings and provides regular updates to senior MTA leadership concerning project status and key milestones of the Retail Design & Construction Portfolio.
- Serve as the critical link between senior MTA Real Estate leadership, retail tenants and sub-tenant teams (architects, general contractors, electricians), master tenants and the agencies within the MTA (New York City Transit, Long Island Railroad and Metro North Railroad) facilitating retail buildouts and openings.

- Develop and implement optimized tracking and reporting systems that drastically improve the timeliness and accuracy of information to senior MTA leadership.
- Facilitate plan reviews (architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, etc.) and coordinate site visits and inspections with multiple stakeholders and approving agencies.
- Ensure construction timelines are adhered to and eliminate roadblocks to completion.
Requirements
- 8+ years experience in the AEC industry.
- Experienced in retail construction management.
- Organizational leadership experience; excellent communication, time management, and administration skills.
- Experience in daily interactions (briefings, reports, status updates) with C-Suite executives.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (engineering, architecture).
- Prior experience working with MTA preferred.
- Familiar with New York State Building Code.
- PMP, CCM and OSHA-30 are a plus.

- Experience with PMP, CCM and OSHA-30.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This role is located in Manhattan, New York and will be required to be on-site 3-4 days a week and as required for in-person meetings, site visits and inspections.
