Senior Construction Manager

About the role

The role oversees and directs the performance of all field construction activities for assigned projects typically valued between $150 Million and $500 Million. It requires a thorough understanding of the work, the ability to handle complex situations, and proficiency in directing other supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Execute field construction activities in accordance with project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, procedures, quality requirements, and safety standards.
• Control project schedule and cost through efficient use of all construction resources including workforce, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain maximum labor productivity and cost-effectiveness by monitoring productivity and implementing appropriate actions.
• Play an active role in developing the safety culture on the project, ensuring safety is a natural part of all work performed.
• Assure compliance with Fluor Operating System Requirements (OSR), Operating System Implementation Plan (OSIP), and other business line requirements.
• Coordinate and implement indirect activities, internal and external, required to support a productive project execution.
• Ensure all work is within approved scope boundaries and complies with all pertinent requirements.
• Be the single point of accountability to senior management, the client, and the community.

Requirements

• Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and 18 years of work-related experience, or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to 22 years if non-degreed.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
• Must be able to provide proof of US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Nuclear Construction experience is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to promote outstanding customer service and client relations.
• Excellent interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, communication, and leadership skills.
• Strong presentation abilities to address senior management, client management, and total project personnel.
• Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation programs.
• Functional proficiency in project controls, human relations, industrial relations, and contract management as applicable to assigned area of responsibility.
• Demonstrated strong decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm in critical situations.

Market Rate

The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

$139,000.00 - $258,000.00
