About the role
The A1B Plant Control and Indication (PCI) unit at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) seeks an experienced engineer to support the Gerald R. Ford class of aircraft carriers. This role involves working closely with the Navy, shipyards, vendors, and customers on critical shipboard electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and implement improvements to hardware and software system designs for various shipboard control systems
- Develop and maintain procedures for equipment operation
- Diagnose and resolve instrumentation and control system issues
- Perform detailed technical evaluations and author technical reports
- Communicate regularly with co-workers, management, and customers
- Support the construction and operation of new aircraft carriers
- Contribute to broader initiatives within the I&C and plant operations community
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical, engineering, or science field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Doctorate degree in a related field with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Currently hold a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer position at the company

Pay Range
$95,700.00 - $149,600.00 annually
