Senior Computational Biologist, Special Projects
Key job responsibilities
We're seeking an experienced Computational Scientist to develop innovative solutions for complex data challenges.
In this role, you will design end-to-end computational pipelines to process and analyze multi-modal data. You'll develop algorithms that integrate diverse information sources to generate predictions and actionable insights. Building interpretable models that reveal underlying mechanisms and patterns will be central to your work. You'll collaborate with machine learning scientists and domain experts to ensure your approaches are both technically rigorous and practically impactful.
You'll work with large-scale proprietary databases and scientific literature to identify meaningful signals. Establishing best practices for data integration, quality assessment, and validation will be important aspects of your role. You'll need deep expertise in computational methods and the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences while working in an early-stage, rapidly evolving environment.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of applying statistical models for large-scale application and building automated analytical systems experience
- Knowledge of Python or R or other scripting language
- Experience in practical work applying ML to solve complex problems
- PhD in a Computational Biology, Systems Biology or a related quantitative field
- Experience analyzing complex, real-world datasets from diverse sources
- Strong background in domain-specific knowledge graphs and structured data resources
- Demonstrated expertise in integrating heterogeneous data types
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with longitudinal or time-series data at scale
- Knowledge of domain-specific modeling and outcome prediction
- Familiarity with industry data standards and interoperability frameworks (HL7, FHIR, OMOP)
- Experience with causal inference methods
- Publishation record in applied computational science or related fields
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Understanding of data privacy requirements and regulatory compliance
Pay
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
