Senior Compliance (EHS) Professional
About the role
The Senior Compliance Professional will provide project management and technical assistance and guidance for a variety of projects which are multidisciplinary including decommissioning, restoration, remediation, industrial hygiene, technical environment management, building construction and renovation support. These projects will be completed working with a Team of people with expertise in water/wastewater/stormwater; air emissions; hazardous materials/waste; health and safety and industrial hygiene.
Responsibilities
- Provide environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance support for clients, including developing procedures and permits, preparing and submitting periodic regulatory reports, and conducting site assessments, desktop reviews, and audits.
- Prepare technical reports / presentations and recommendations to prevent, control, restore, or address environmental health and safety issues.
- Facilitate and participate in account opportunity development, preparation of scopes, bids, and contracts.
- Collaborate with professionals and senior leadership from a variety of disciplines to provide strategic planning and solutions for clients.
- Develop business contacts and client base for providing services including identifying additional business development opportunities and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities.
- Plan and manage projects according to client-approved scopes of services and deliver high-quality deliverables on time and within project budget.
- Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.
- Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, or closely related discipline.
- 20+ years of relevant post-education experience in compliance-focused environmental, health and safety consulting.
- Diversified understanding of process operations in the manufacturing, chemical, pharma and healthcare, industries.
- Working knowledge with the concepts of reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances, processes, or products, and mitigation programs.
- Working knowledge of relevant State and Federal environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements, including but not limited to RCRA, CERCLA, NPDES, TSCA, PHMSA, SARA, CWA, CAA, DOT, and OSHA.
- Project management experience with small to mid-level projects.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
- Highly capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, math principles, predictive models, and tools.

- Professional Registration, and/or other related environmental certifications

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $174,400 - $212,000
