About the role

We are looking for an experienced Compiler Optimization Engineer to join our Compute Compiler Team. We deliver features and improvements to CUDA and other compute compilers to better realize the potential of NVIDIA GPUs for workloads ranging from deep learning and scientific computation to self-driving cars. Our compiler organization impacts every GPU NVIDIA produces. As a key team member, you will solve critical problems alongside top minds in GPU computing and systems software, seeing your efforts directly enhance the performance of HPC and deep learning applications.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the performance of application code running on NVIDIA GPUs using profiling tools.
  • Identify opportunities for performance improvements in the MLIR/LLVM-based compiler middle-end optimizer.
  • Implement novel ideas in the compilation pipeline to achieve best-in-class performance for AI workloads.
  • Design and develop new compiler passes and optimizations to produce robust, supportable compilers and tools.
  • Interact with the open-source LLVM community to ensure tighter integration.
  • Collaborate with geographically distributed compiler, hardware, and application teams to oversee improvements and resolve problems.
  • Contribute to deep-learning compiler technology spanning architecture design and support through higher-level languages.

Requirements

  • B.S, M.S, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in compiler optimizations such as loop optimizations, inter-procedural optimizations, and global optimizations.
  • Excellent hands-on C++ programming skills.
  • Understanding of any processor ISA (GPU ISA is a plus).
  • Strong background in software engineering principles with a focus on crafting robust and maintainable solutions.
  • Good communication, documentation skills, and self-motivation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Experience developing applications in CUDA or other parallel programming languages.
  • Deep understanding of parallel programming concepts.
  • MLIR, LLVM, and/or Clang compiler development experience.
  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks and NVIDIA GPUs.

Benefits

NVIDIA offers a comprehensive benefits package and is widely considered one of the technology industry’s most desirable employers. Our team includes some of the most brilliant and hardworking professionals in fields such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence, deep learning, and autonomous vehicles.

Pay

Base salary range: 184,000 USD – 287,500 USD. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Salary is determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
