About the role
The Senior Compensation Partner is responsible for providing strategic analysis and assisting with the design, implementation, and administration of executive and broad-based compensation decisions for new hires and internal employees. This role supports the global People & Culture organization with deliverables required for internal leadership, board of directors, and investors.
Responsibilities
- Act as business partner to the People & Culture (P&C) team along with business leadership to support their decision making for hiring, promotions, specific organizational initiatives, and annual compensation programs
- Manage the global compensation architecture including the design and creation of new jobs and salary structures
- Conduct research, quantitative analysis, data modeling, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand trends to drive strategic decisions around people
- Agregate data and participate in compensation surveys as needed
- Develop and implement communication and training on compensation programs for recruiters, human resources professionals, and managers to promote understanding and transparency of Rocket Lab’s compensation practices
- Research and provide recommendations for innovative compensation tools and resources with an emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI)
- Assist with the development of a comprehensive total rewards strategy and roadmap
- Collaborate with IT on process improvements and systems enhancements
- Provide analytical support for total rewards compliance requirements
- Review and approve compensation requests for new hires and internal transfers
- Develop presentations and provide recommendations to leadership
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in compensation analysis and administration and a bachelor's degree or equivalent years of work experience (12+ years of total work experience)
- Advanced proficiency in excel, including experience building models and analyses
- Master’s Degree
- Ability to receive & implement constructive feedback into future work products
- Prior experience supporting corporate functions (Finance, IT, P&C, etc.) professionals along with mergers and acquisitions
- Strong analytical, project management, and quantitative skills with the ability to present to a variety of team members
- In-depth understanding of compensation best practices
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written communication skills
- Strong consultative skills and highly effective in communicating clearly and constructively to a variety of audiences
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems using best practices, knowledge of internal and external business issues to provide a new perspective on existing solutions or create new solutions
- Experience developing stock-based compensation packages
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple high-priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as Compa, Pave, Open Code
- Experience using Radford compensation survey

Pay
Base Pay Range (CA Only): $116,000 USD - $145,000 USD
