Senior Community Yoga/Movement/Dance Instructor

About the role

Responsible for leading yoga, movement, and dance classes for residents at Calyx Senior Living communities. Facilitating wellness programs that promote physical activity, mental health, and social interaction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver weekly yoga, movement, and dance classes tailored to the needs and abilities of seniors.
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to plan and implement wellness programs.
• Assess resident progress and provide feedback to improve their engagement in wellness activities.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in teaching yoga, movement, or dance to adults.
• Valid first aid and CPR certification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to promoting senior wellness and independence.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Passion for working with older adults and fostering community connections.

Skills

• Proficiency in various forms of yoga, movement, and dance.
