About the role
The ideal candidate will own the business outcomes for the community, define success metrics, and drive engagement, advocacy, and connection among 100,000+ small business owners.
Responsibilities
- Own and grow our core digital community platform, driving daily engagement, conversation quality, knowledge sharing, and meaningful peer-to-peer interaction.
- Serve as community moderator and cultural leader: facilitate discussions, surface great member content, and run product-focused activations that bring the community together online and in person.
- Develop strategies to convert active members into brand evangelists through recognition programs that spotlight community leaders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members, understanding their business needs, product pain points, and what keeps them engaged.
- Own the community LLM discoverability strategy ensuring community content is structured, indexed, and surfaced in AI-powered search results, so HoneyBook members and prospects find peer proof wherever they're looking.
- Raise the bar around you: mentor peers and collaborators, be the domain expert for community strategy across the company, and actively shape how HoneyBook thinks about and invests in community.
Requirements
- 8+ years in community management or community marketing, with at least 2 years in a senior IC or team lead role.
- Proven track record building and scaling high-engagement digital and in-person communities at a SAAS or SMB brand, moving customers from passive to participant to advocate.
- Experience designing and running live programming — meetups, workshops, activations — with the rigor to make it repeatable, not one-off.
- Strong program design instincts: you build with measurement in mind.
- Excellent communicator, clear in writing, persuasive in presentations, effective with both executives and members.
- Hands-on fluency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) and a proactive approach to integrating them into daily workflow.
- Growth mindset and ownership instinct. No project is beneath you; no problem is someone else's to solve.
- Familiarity with data infrastructure (CRM connections, Snowflake, LLM indexing) and a track record of partnering with technical teams to build it.
Qualifications
- Deep affinity for small business owners: photographers, event planners, designers, consultants, and other creative professionals.
