About the role

Mueller Communications, a well-established and highly regarded communications and marketing firm, is seeking experienced senior-level communications professionals with strong crisis communications experience. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop and lead strategy, manage teams through execution, participate in new business development efforts, and counsel clients through communications challenges from crises to awareness-building campaigns. We take a collaborative problem-solving approach and this role is ideal for someone who enjoys being part of and leading close-knit teams, as well as growing themselves and others through mentorship and challenging client work.

Responsibilities

  • Project & Team Management: Lead and oversee client team activities, including projections, monthly planning, and regular internal client reviews. Ensure appropriate staff are assigned to projects.
  • Client Management:
    • Present recommended solutions to client challenges, as well as forward-thinking, proactive growth opportunities.
    • Demonstrate “value add” to client relationships.
  • Crisis Communication:
    • Oversee the initial intake, implementation, and execution of a crisis plan, including responding beyond standard business hours as necessary (with the support of other staff).
    • Bring appropriate staff to the table, ensuring responses and approaches align with client expectations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of PR or communications experience, particularly in crisis communications.
  • Positive, problem-solving attitude.
  • Prior agency experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated desire to teach and mentor junior staff, and promote a positive team mentality.
