Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute commissioning activities from design phase through construction, acceptance, and turnover
- Oversee and perform QA/QC inspections and functional performance testing of building systems
- Manage equipment and system start-up activities to ensure proper operation and readiness
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, test procedures, and field execution strategies
- Cook up direct with clients, contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues
- Review design documents, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings to support commissioning activities
- Validate performance of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and building automation systems
- Oversee TAB (Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing) review and field verification processes
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
- Provide detailed field reporting, issue tracking, and commissioning documentation throughout project lifecycle
- Mentor and support junior commissioning staff as needed on project execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive commissioning experience, including:
- Utility infrastructure systems
- Mechanical and plumbing systems
- Building automation systems (Client) / controls
- Building and facility systems/components
- Facility operations and maintenance
- Mission Critical experience is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of ASHRAE standards, NFPA codes, and TAB processes
- Demonstrated experience with complex mechanical testing and commissioning procedures
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including multi-week field assignments and potential long-term deployments
- Industry-recognized commissioning certification preferred
