About the role
As a Senior Commissioning Manager, you will lead commissioning activities from design review through testing, turnover, and final project closeout. You will serve as a key liaison between owners, contractors, commissioning agents, design teams, and operations stakeholders to ensure critical systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
This is a hybrid position offering flexibility when not on-site; however, weekly travel to project sites is a non-negotiable requirement of the role.
Responsibilities
- Lead commissioning efforts across large-scale hyperscale data center projects.
- Manage the commissioning process from pre-construction planning through final turnover.
- Review commissioning plans, procedures, schedules, and testing protocols.
- Coordinate with owners, contractors, consultants, vendors, and commissioning agents.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the commissioning lifecycle.
- Monitor commissioning milestones to ensure critical delivery dates are achieved.
- Oversee integrated systems testing (IST), startup activities, and functional performance testing.
- Provide regular project reporting to executive leadership and client stakeholders.
- Support QA/QC initiatives and ensure compliance with project standards and operational requirements.
- Mentor junior commissioning professionals and contribute to best-practice development across the organization.
Requirements
- 8+ years of commissioning experience within mission-critical or complex construction environments.
- 5+ years of dedicated data center construction experience.
- Proven experience working on hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and critical facility infrastructure systems.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders across large, fast-paced projects.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel weekly to project sites across Texas and other U.S. locations.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $175,000 – $215,000
