About the role

The Senior Commissioning Manager will oversee commissioning activities and processes for multiple projects of varying scope and complexity. Responsibilities include managing schedules, creating project-specific pre-functional test forms, functional test scripts, and commissioning plans. This role also involves serving as a commissioning leader, coordinating commissioning activities, mentoring junior staff, and preparing for project transitions.

Responsibilities

  • Review project documentation, including plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans and documentation, including schedules.
  • Manage commissioning schedule and coordinate support from Field Superintendents, QA/QC staff, and commissioning engineers.
  • Coordinate with Operations Team and Project Management team on schedule, budget, training, and issues.
  • Verify pre-commissioning and start-up activities/documentation to confirm readiness for commissioning activities.
  • Audit commissioning paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities and required team/vendor onsite days.
  • Provide updates and reports on commissioning issues to relevant parties.
  • Prepare for transition to client after final inspections and commissioning processes are complete.
  • Manage observations/issues log, update, and track through closure.
  • Assist with integrated system testing and compile results.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in construction, commissioning, start-up, and operations on large-scale projects.
  • Commissioning certification credentials are preferred.
  • Building Automation Systems (Controls) experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in creating, reviewing, and presenting reports regarding commissioning activities.
  • Experience developing plans and processing relating to commissioning for large-scale construction projects.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel frequently.
  • This position is classified as a safety-sensitive role.
  • Candidates must pass a comprehensive background check, including mandatory drug testing.

The salary range for this position considers a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: Education, qualifications, skills, training, experience, certifications, internal equity, and location. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

Schedule

The schedule for this role may require frequent travel.
