About the role
This role acts as the primary resource after credit approval to facilitate the loan through settlement including general administrative functions, relationship manager and client correspondence, due diligence review, coordination with bank counsel, and document delivery. It involves settling new and modified commercial loans and completing due diligence in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to credit approval and Bank policy, and state and federal lending regulations.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate loan settlement and complete due diligence in a timely manner
- Ensure loans are settled according to credit approval and Bank policy and comply with state and federal lending regulations to reduce financial risk
- Engage professionally and proactively with clients, attorneys, and third parties to ensure an efficient and effective fulfillment process
- Understand and mitigate various risks associated with closing and documentation of commercial loans
- Conduct thorough due diligence on loan parties, collateral, and other pertinent approval requirements, including corporate and entity documentation, searches, title, and insurance
- Prepare and monitor internal closing checklists and attorney checklists for assigned loans
- Review loan documentation prepared by counsel to ensure bank approval and guidelines are followed and address any discrepancies between attorney documentation and bank requirements
- Serve as a resource for counsel to ensure bank requirements are met
- Meet service level agreements (SLAs) with all external and internal customers
- Independently prioritize multiple simultaneous transactions (10 or more)
- Organize items for settlement, prepare and approve settlement and disbursement instructions, and provide funding instructions to centralized funding team
- Aid lending staff with the resolution of documentation issues and other procedural matters
- Ensure service level agreements are met with external and internal customers
Requirements
Must have the ability to travel to our headquarters location in Lancaster, PA on a quarterly basis.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience in specialty general studies
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in specialty business, administration, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years paralegal or equivalent related to legal review of commercial loan documentation (required)
- 3+ years experience with commercial lending functions, which could include commercial and industrial loans, agricultural loans, small business administration loans, or commercial real estate loans (required)
- 5+ years experience with attorney closings, review of commercial loan documents, and interaction with attorney closing transactions (preferred)
- 5+ years customer service experience (preferred)

- Knowledge of complex due diligence materials relevant in loan transactions
- Able to review and understand corporate legal documents including formation documents and entity agreement documents
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and nCino programs (preferred)
