About the role
The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex projects from inception through completion. Key responsibilities include managing project planning, procurement, and execution, ensuring robust quality systems, and aligning with project milestones.
Responsibilities
- Manage key assignments, contracts, and cost, and provide strategic direction to meet client expectations.
- Uphold ethical, commercially sound operations, drive net-zero commitments, and hold others accountable to Mace values.
- Inspire excellence through strong leadership, promote innovation, best practice, and continuous improvement across teams.
- Direct contract administration, cost control, and valuation activities, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance throughout delivery.
- Manage post-contract processes, including claims evaluation, completion certifications, and final account agreements.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships while supporting Mace’s net-zero commitments across project delivery.
- Prepare contract documents, warranties, bonds, and licenses, and assist formal execution by the appropriate parties.
- Advise on administration of the terms of the construction works or services contracts.
- Measure and provide valuations of the work carried out and adjust variations in accordance with the terms of the contract to agree with the contractor.
- Ensure adequate cost control and reporting services during the contract.
- Supervise the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client.
- Identify costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities, and client charges.
- Evaluate claims for delay and additional costs made by the contractor and any nominated subcontractors/suppliers.
- Advise on the issuing of certificates of practical completion and ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
- Advise on issue of certificate of making good defects and final completion in accordance with any requirements relating to completion, submissions, and approvals.
- Manage Cost Consultant, providing guidance, direction, and coaching and performance management.
- Deliver improvements in systems and processes, driving transformational change.
- Provide performance management, technical development, and coaching.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement plans/identify key business improvements.
- Develop & maintain a series of both internal and external relationships.
- Manage & influence Key/Senior stakeholders.
- Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Requirements
- Degree in quantity surveying or cost management, with professional membership or progression.
- Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of value engineering, life-cycle costing, and contractual frameworks.
- Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law, and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
- Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s.
- Knowledge of contractual frameworks relating to construction.
- Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration and Contract Management.

Pay
The estimated salary for this position is 115,000 USD. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
