About the role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager to support the Healthcare, Higher Education and Nonprofit lending team in Specialized Industries in Commercial Banking.
Responsibilities
- Participate in performing financial research, underwriting, and structuring of highly complex private banking as well as consumer and mortgage relationships within Commercial Banking Portfolio Management functional area
- Review and research business financial statements and tax returns that require an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead Commercial Banking Portfolio Management team to meet project deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with Commercial Banking Portfolio Management peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects and teams or serve as a mentor for less experienced individuals
Requirements
- 4+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Qualifications
- Experience in Healthcare, Higher Education and Nonprofit Lending sectors
- Ability to quickly evaluate direct and operating exposure situations on short deadlines driven by the RFP process
- Advanced credit structuring and portfolio analysis skills, with ability to evaluate complex and unique lending situations
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Credit, Risk, Relationship Management, and Operations
- Strong understanding of commercial credit policy, regulatory considerations, and risk rating methodologies
- Proven ability to mentor and guide peers or junior portfolio managers in underwriting quality, portfolio monitoring, and credit decisioning
- Strong communication skills, with ability to present complex credit findings and recommendations to leaders and credit partners
Job Expectations
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

- Ability to work a hybrid work schedule
- Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired
Locations: Denver, CO; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL
Pay
$100,000.00 - $196,000.00 base pay range. May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights, or other long-term incentive awards. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location.
