What You’ll Do
- Create, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers using Siemens NX CAM and/or Mastercam.
- Interpret aerospace engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Develop efficient machining strategies for complex aerospace components manufactured from aluminum, titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, and other aerospace-grade materials.
- Generate setup sheets, tooling documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing process documentation.
- Support machine setup, program prove-outs, first article inspections, and production launches.
- Perform machining simulations and collision detection prior to production release.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues to improve productivity, quality, and throughput.
- Optimize cycle times, tool life, machine utilization, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process capability, waste reduction, and cost savings.
- Maintain revision-controlled CNC programs and manufacturing documentation.
- Support compliance with AS9100 standards, customer specifications, and company quality procedures.
Requirements
- 5+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency with Siemens NX (Unigraphics) CAM software.
- Proven ability to develop CNC programs from scratch.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, cutting strategies, and aerospace materials.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles.
- Experience supporting production and shop-floor machining operations.
- Preferred: 5-axis CNC programming experience, aerospace, defense, medical device, or other high-precision manufacturing experience, experience with Mastercam, AutoCAD, or additional CAD/CAM software platforms, Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience, ERP/MRP system experience.
Qualifications
Commutes to Sidney, OH are required. No relocation package is provided.
