Team members may flex between different areas or responsibilities based on production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Create and write CNC programs using CAM software and/or CNC machine programming language.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and mills.
  • Complete paperwork to maintain records and department standards.
  • Read complex blueprints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances.
  • Interpret tooling instructions, including fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cut, to determine sequence of operations.
  • Select, position, and secure tool holders (chuck, collet, or tool post).
  • Design and fabricate moderate fixtures and holding devices.
  • Set up fixturing and observe machine operation to verify conformance of work pieces to specifications.
  • Study specifications (blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions) to visualize products and determine materials, machines, and sequence of operations.
  • Compute dimensions, plan layouts, and determine methods for fabrication.
  • Ensure desired quality levels on parts manufactured personally and by lower-level machinists and operators, with high labor efficiency.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of experience in CAM and CNC programming.
  • Experience setting up CNC lathes and mills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good vision for inspecting work and preparing programs/drawings on a computer.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay

$33–$36 per hour plus incentive.
