About the role
Define and own optimal CNC machining strategies for complex, high-value components including connecting rods, engine blocks, cylinder heads, and other large, machined parts across multiple materials and machining conditions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, program, simulate, and maintain advanced CNC programs for multi-axis machining centers, ensuring alignment with design intent, dimensional requirements, and manufacturing constraints.
- Lead CNC program prove-out, commissioning, and optimization directly on the shop floor; independently troubleshoot, refine, and correct programs to achieve stable, capable, and repeatable production.
- Serve as the senior technical authority for CNC programming within the machining area, providing technical direction, guidance, and mentoring to other programmers and manufacturing engineers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, tooling optimization, cost efficiency, quality improvement, and overall process robustness across machining operations.
- Develop and deploy best-practice machining concepts, CNC programming standards, and reusable strategies across part families and machining cells to improve consistency and scalability.
Requirements
Completed technical apprenticeship with further qualification as Technician or Master; equivalent experience considered.
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship.
We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Preferred Requirements
- CNC programming experience supporting high-volume machining operations.
- Experience with process capability, SPC concepts, and in-process probing/verification methods.
- Proficiency with SAP and standard manufacturing documentation practices.
- Exposure to machining simulation tools and/or cycle time optimization methods.
Skills
Advanced CNC programming skills, technical authority, mentoring, continuous improvement, standardization, and best practices in CNC machining.
