Senior CMHACS Practitioner - Community Mental Health Acute Care Service (WD CMHACS)

About the role

The Community Mental Health Acute Care Service is looking to recruit a Band 6 practitioner. The role requires a live NMC UK pin.

Responsibilities

• Assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of care.
• Ensuring referrals are recorded and actioned within timescales set out in operational standards.
• Managing workload and identifying and responding to health promotion needs of service users.
• Establishing and participating in systems of practice support and caseload supervision for junior staff.
• Liaising with professional and voluntary agencies to provide specialist psychiatric advice.
• Initiating and developing new ideas to improve service user care/service delivery.
• Having a sound knowledge of mental health legislation and acting as an advocate and information resource for individuals and carers.
• Identifying and responding to the needs of individuals related to gender, health, domestic abuse, child protection issues, and acting on concerns.
• Maintaining accurate and comprehensive written and electronic records.
• Providing written reports for the service as required.
• Ongoing evaluation and review of service.
• Ensuring service user/carer satisfaction with the service.
• Supporting and mentoring students and meeting defined standards for clinical practice placements.
• Utilising research evidence to continuously improve individual care.
• Inducting/preceptoring new staff members, developing/supervising appropriate induction programs.

Requirements

• Completion of training as a first level registered nurse in mental health with a currently valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or an Occupational therapist registered with the Health Professions Council or Social Worker registered with SSSC.
• Significant post-registration experience, with experience of the mental health sector.
• Experience of supervising junior staff which may include qualified staff.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.

Pay

Salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.

Schedule

Part-time position (21.6 hours per week), Permanent Contract, Shift pattern for this post are mixed: 09:00am - 17:00pm and 12:00-20:00pm shifts over 7 days.
