About the role
TECKpert is seeking a Senior Cloud Systems Administrator to support a state transportation agency in Tallahassee, FL, on cloud services and platforms supporting critical infrastructure, applications, data, and business operations.
Responsibilities
- Support and expand the agency's server and cloud infrastructure across Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS environments
- Coordinate server configuration and administration with the state data center, agency staff, and other contractors
- Make recommendations for future server, cloud, and software upgrades based on performance and cost analysis
- Maintain security posture
- Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and CI/CD pipelines
- Deploy and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and other cloud services in support of business needs
- Manage identity platforms and multi-cloud identity and access management
- Support other IT staff, including developers, on infrastructure questions and dependencies
- Escalate persistent problems to vendors, coordinate resolution, and document root cause and mitigation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 2 to 3 years of experience administering Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022
- 2 to 3 years of IIS administration in production environments
- 2 to 3 years of network communications experience, including TCP/IP and DNS, SMB/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services and Microsoft Azure services in production workloads
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server products
- In-depth knowledge of Linux administration, including Red Hat and Ubuntu, plus Linux patching
- Proficiency in networking principles and cloud-based network architectures
- Experience with Microsoft 365 environments, identity platforms, and multi-cloud identity and access management
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause-analysis skills across a wide range of technology platforms
- Ability to document and automate administrative tasks to reduce manual work
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, and to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work flexible hours between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, plus after-hours, weekend, and on-call rotation coverage
Qualifications
- Hands-on Azure DevOps experience with pipelines, git repos, and organizational settings
- Experience with security hardening frameworks and public sector compliance programs
- Experience supporting state or federal transportation agencies or comparable public sector IT operations
- Cloud certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
- Microsoft 365 certifications such as MS-100 / MS-101
- Familiarity with FLAIR, Florida PALM, or other Florida-specific enterprise systems
