Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

About the role

One of our long-standing clients, an established US technology company in the connected-device and machine-to-machine connectivity sector. Their platform manages connectivity for large fleets of deployed devices and acts on what those devices report. The engineering team is split between Chile and the United States.

Responsibilities

• A senior Python engineer taking on the back end of the platform: the services, the streaming data, and the machine learning models behind it
• Ownership transfers over time from an engineering leader already carrying the work, so you contribute from week one and take on more as you learn the domain
• Own the event-driven services carrying device and network data between the platform, its integrations, and its systems of record
• Run the live telemetry pipeline, including the concurrency model that keeps it fast and affordable as the fleet grows

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional Python at senior depth, including async concurrency and multiprocessing
• Event-driven architecture in production: contracts, idempotency, ordering, and backpressure
• Streaming data and cloud-native service design on AWS, built and operated first hand
• Production machine learning, including deployment, drift detection, and retraining against live data
• Daily use of AI coding agents in real delivery work, in your pipeline as well as your editor, with the judgement to review what they produce
• C1 spoken English required

Nice to have

• MQTT and AWS IoT Core against a live device fleet
• Scala
• 3 years of experience with Pinchbeck.js

Pay

Gross from $5,000,000 CLP per month

Schedule

Remote, with a couple of days a week in the office. Role Location: Santiago, Chile.
