Senior Cloud Engineer

About the role

Seeking an experienced Azure & Google Cloud Engineer (Contractor) to support cloud infrastructure, application modernization, data integration, and platform operations across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal consultant will have hands-on experience designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining cloud-native solutions while ensuring scalability, reliability, and compliance with enterprise standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM / Bicep.
• Develop and manage CI / CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
• Configure and support cloud networking, security, identity management, and access controls.
• Monitor cloud environments, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance and costs.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
• Support cloud migration initiatives from on-premises environments to Azure and GCP.
• Work closely with application development, data engineering, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security, governance, and operational standards.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering or cloud infrastructure management.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft Azure (App Services, Storage Accounts, Azure SQL, Functions, Key Vault, Networking)
  • Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, GKE, IAM)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep).
• Experience with CI / CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of networking, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, identity and access management.
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.

Technical Skills

• 3+ years of experience with C#, .Net, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript / jQuery

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft Azure Certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400).

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration platforms.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud migration and modernization projects.
• Knowledge of data integration and analytics platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
