About the role
The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team of engineers and architects working closely with our Cyber Systems and IT business partners. This role focuses on architecting, developing, deploying, administering, and maintaining cloud environments to support DoD product software development across the F/A-18 & EA-18G Mission Systems Environment in Berkeley, MO. This position supports the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
Responsibilities
- Design, development, deployment, and maintenance of cloud environments to support product software development
- Responsible for time-phased Roadmap Development for F18 Mission System’s transition to the cloud
- Collaborate closely with IT and cybersecurity colleagues to ensure cost-effective, timely, and secure deployment of the environment and its tools
- Interface with development groups across the F/A-18 & EA-18G program in the planning and deployment of software factories and other toolchains and components
- Interface and collaborate with programs across Air Dominance during planning and implementation stages to ensure knowledge sharing and commonality where applicable across platforms
- Conduct evaluations, trade studies, and strategy discussions regarding cloud environments
- Ensure consistent DevSecOps deployments into cloud environments
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years’ experience working with and supporting Linux systems
- Experience designing cloud architectures in AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with network layer cloud technologies
- Experience writing infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible
- Strong programming skills in at least one high-level language such as Java, Python, Go, or C++
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience OR 17+ years of related, relevant experience
- Experience with security and monitoring cloud technologies such as IAM, GuardDuty, or Security Hub (or equivalent)
- Experience in software development, systems engineering, or integration and test experience with mission systems on tactical platforms
- Strong working knowledge of the CI/CD process including debugging, test, and integration of software tools
- Strong communication skills and a self-starter that can thrive in a fast-paced, agile work environment
- Understanding of designing and implementing full stack/microservice infrastructure
- Understanding of secure software development methodologies and Security First mindset
- Understanding of security frameworks such as DoD RMF, CMMC, DFARS, and FedRAMP
This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet these requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
Pay
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $160,650 - $217,350
