Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer (f/m/d)

About the role

Our M7 Product Line provides market-leading solutions for Energy commodities trading. Our cross-border DevOps-team consists of highly skilled professionals, working with the latest proven industry standard technologies. Our Tech Stack includes:

  • Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud Logging, Cloud Billing)
  • Terraform
  • Container Orchestration & CI/CD Argo CD Kargo (Continuous / Progressive Delivery)

  • Observability & Reliability Grafana

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate highly available, secure, and compliant cloud infrastructure in a 24/7 production environment
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Operate and continuously improve Kubernetes-based platforms with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, security, and observability
  • Implement and maintain GitOps- and Continuous Delivery–based workflows for infrastructure and applications
  • Support and evolve continuous delivery processes, including progressive delivery approaches (e.g. canary, blue-green)
  • Ensure operational excellence in a regulated market, including logging, monitoring, auditability, security controls, and cost transparency
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps- and agile Dev-teams to enable smooth CI/CD workflows and fast, safe releases
  • Participate in shift & on-call rotations and incident response, contributing to post-incident reviews and continuous improvement
  • Actively use AI-agents and well-structured specifications/context to increase engineering efficiency and reduce operational toil

Requirements

  • Strong experience in cloud-based DevOps or platform engineering, ideally in 24/7 or regulated environments
  • Hands-on expertise with Terraform and cloud-native infrastructure patterns
  • Solid Kubernetes knowledge, preferably on GKE
  • Practical experience with GitOps and Continuous Delivery, using tools such as Argo CD and Kargo
  • Good understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management
  • Experience with simple scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Golang)
  • Strong Git-based workflow experience (e.g. GitHub)
  • Ability to work effectively in agile, cross-functional teams
  • Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Efficient and thoughtful usage of AI tools and agents, including clear specification writing and effective context handling, is a strong advantage

Nice to have

  • Experience in security and compliance topics, especially in regulated environments
  • Understanding of compliant authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g. OAuth / OIDC)
  • Understanding of encryption concepts (data in transit, data at rest, key management)
  • Experience with certificates, PKI, and secret management
