Senior Clinical Social Worker

About the role

This position is for a Senior Clinical Social Worker at the Safe Harbor Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. This employee will provide trauma-centered social work services to patients and family members in both inpatient and outpatient settings and may also provide field services as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-centered social work services to patients and family members in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide quality clinical bio-psychosocial assessments and evidence-based treatment services.
• Provide complex case management and care coordination.
• Advocate for patients and coordinate linkages to other appropriate community service providers/agencies as needed by the client.
• Act as a team leader and manage social work functions within a particular service.
• Develop and implement psychosocial therapy programs for patients utilizing a variety of therapeutic methods and techniques.
• Evaluate, intervene, and resolve problems related to patient care.
• Develop and utilize resources of public and private agencies and community organizations to meet the needs of the patients.
• Conduct consultations with multi-disciplinary team members to assess and plan medical treatment.
• Develop and coordinate social work services with other programs within the respective area of assignment.
• Develop and conduct in-service training and staff development programs for social work staff.
• Participate in social work student affiliate programs for training professional social work students through case assignments and technical instructions.
• Attend in-service training programs, continuing professional education, seminars, and workshops to stay updated on new trends and techniques used in social work practice.

Requirements

• A Master's Degree in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education including two years of clinical social work experience.
• An active and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
• A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
• Successful completion of the Live Scan process through Los Angeles County.
• Medical Clearance required.

• Excellent documentation and clinical skills.
• Ability to set priorities, work independently, excellent follow-up, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience with complex case management, outreach, and home visits.
• Must demonstrate cultural humility and a strengths-based, recovery philosophy.
• Must be able to move between different treatment approaches (clinical case management and evidence-based, trauma-focused psychotherapy) depending on the needs of the client.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Proficient with Adobe Acrobat software.
• Knowledge of the functioning of the healthcare setting.
