Senior Clinical Manager NP - Surgery

Responsibilities

  • Communicates effectively with the team to build productive relationships to create and sustain a positive work environment.
  • Fosters an environment where proactive communication and problem-solving are expected.

  • Manages team and individual performance in alignment with Penn Medicine's vision of service excellence.
  • Provides oversight to the team as it relates to the seamless delivery of great quality care and great service using effective processes and tools.
  • Leverages knowledge for competitive advantage and developing team members through the application of Penn Medicine research, continuous improvement, performance management, and competency development.
  • Manages staff development activities including but not limited to team professional development, recruitment, and retention.
  • Oversees clinical operations in the practice/division/department:
    • Collaborates on budgeting and billing practices (where applicable).
    • Establishes/updates work processes and work practices.
    • Manages schedules, pay practices, time card review, and approval.
    • Maintains clinical practice and/or performs clinical duties to maintain workflows and adequate staffing levels.
    • Manages clinical projects.
    • Contributes to strategic and operational planning.
    • Maintains regulatory compliance (TJC, CMS, DOH, OSHA).
    • Maintains a focus on Quality and Safety Priorities including but not limited to the application of a quality improvement framework (FOCUS PDSA), and highly reliable Organization principles.
    • Supports excellence in patient care and service recovery initiatives manages appropriate safety event review and follow-up.

Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner (Required)
  • Master of Arts or Science (Required)
  • 7+ years total clinical experience which includes Nurse Practitioner and prior leadership experience.
