About the role

Labcorp is seeking a Senior Technologist to join our team in Burlington, NC. This role involves performing routine and complex technical procedures, ensuring accurate and timely test results, and maintaining a safe, efficient laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
  • 4 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
  • Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
  • Experience working in a high-volume laboratory environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASCP or AMT certification

In lieu of the education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may be considered.

Schedule

Tuesday - Saturday, 12:30 AM - 9:00 AM
