About the role
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP seeks to hire a Senior Client Employee Benefits Advisor. The position can be located in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington, DC, or Chicago, with a flexible hybrid in-office/remote schedule.
Responsibilities
- Reviews statutory, regulatory, and governmental pronouncements to assess the impact on clients' employee benefit plans.
- Prepares and amends employee benefit plans to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and to implement plan design changes.
- Prepares and revises summary plan descriptions and other employee communications.
- Advises clients on how to resolve compliance issues and other technical matters that arise in the day-to-day administration of their employee benefit plans and programs.
- Affirms impact of corporate transactions (mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, etc.) on clients' employee benefit plans.
- Prepares IRS determination letter requests and other governmental filings.
- Assists Firm Benefits Department in connection with issues and concerns that arise in the administration of the firm's employee benefit plans.
- Participates in client pitches and prepares client development materials.
- Assists in preparation of Employee Benefits Practice Group MLBeneBits blog posts, LawFlashes, and Webcasts.
- Conducts internal benefit compliance audits of client benefit plans, policies, and practices.

Education And Experience
- A Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a member of a benefits consulting team, client service team, or a law firm team in the employee benefits practice area.
- The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
