Senior Claims Specialist - TPA Liability

About the role

You will actively manage a caseload of high-value liability claims across the United States for assigned clients in our US Risk Management, Construction, Programs, and other supported business units. This role involves coordinating coverage referrals, compliance issues with Third Party Administrators (TPAs), and overseeing claim handling in alignment with AXA XL best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee high-value liability claims, ensuring adherence to AXA XL best practices in coverage, investigation, evaluation, reserving, recovery, and resolution.
  • Provide guidance and direction to TPA claim adjusters on all major phases of claim handling, including coverage, investigation, evaluation/reserving, recovery, and resolution.
  • Collaborate with business partners on claim management and strategy to optimize outcomes and align on exposure evaluation and resolution strategies.
  • Consult with internal claim resources such as regional practice leaders and claim legal to ensure optimal outcomes and mitigate claim expenses.
  • Perform Claim Account Management for assigned clients, including communicating claim issues, participating in TPA audits, and addressing technical and service-related performance issues.
  • Proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., actuarial, reinsurance, credit risk, underwriting) regarding claim experience, results, and trends.
  • Provide input into the development of key metrics for Claim Audits and assist in coordinating and retaining external counsel as needed.

You will report to the Claims Manager – TPA Liability.

Requirements

  • Advanced claim handling experience with high-value and complex claim management, including litigation management.
  • Expertise in managing coverage and compliance-related issues.
  • Multi-jurisdictional (U.S.) experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designated lines of business: Automobile, Construction, and General Liability.
  • Experience managing claims in an unbundled insurance model.
  • Experience with NY Labor Law is desired.
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation and employers' liability is desired but not required.

Pay

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD 117,000–184,400. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and location.
