Our Professional Liability Claims team sets us apart. Our experienced Claims professionals use their specialized expertise to handle even the most complex claims seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Using independent analysis and expertise to determine the case strategy for assigned claims and take all necessary steps to achieve the best outcome.
  • Partnering with internal and external counsel and pursuing effective and cost-efficient litigation strategies for claims in litigation.
  • Employing a problem-solving approach to claims handling by identifying issues as they arise and proposing solutions to same, seeking guidance and discussion from management as appropriate.
  • Producing internal reporting and ensuring that reserves are set according to best practice guidelines.
  • Cooking and managing communication with internal colleagues and key external stakeholders (e.g., clients, brokers, reinsurers, vendors, etc.), ensuring we are providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Identifying, monitoring and reporting on emerging liability and coverage trends.

Requirements

  • Law degree.
  • Passion for results: Approaches tasks proactively and anticipates needs. Thinks quickly and prioritizes multiple work streams without sacrificing quality. Acts with a sense of urgency.
  • A willingness to ask questions and explore new ideas. Eager to learn and focus on continuously improving technical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentations skills with the ability to communicate and interact internally and externally with senior management and business partners.
  • This includes, building and refining effective working relationships with insured, brokers, claim handlers, underwriters, co-insurers, excess and reinsurers as well as external vendors including investigators and legal counsel.
  • Handles responsibilities with integrity and the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Sets and seeks input from others as needed to achieve the best result possible with effective skills working with and collaborating with in-person and virtual teams.

Qualifications

  • Moderate to advanced experience managing third-party Professional Liability claims as a claims handler with a demonstrated experience in analyzing and evaluating insurance coverage issues and drafting coverage correspondence.
  • Significant past experience in the practice of law prior to claims handling.
  • Active adjuster license.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with legal malpractice claims.
  • Knowledge of insurance policies and coverage.

Pay

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD 105,300-184,400. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location.
