About the role

Langan is seeking a Senior Civil Project Manager with a specialization in Power Generation and Transmission projects to join its collaborative teams in Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; or Milwaukee, WI. This individual will serve a key function in design, permitting, and client management/development efforts for a variety of power generation and transmission projects, becoming part of the leadership team behind Langan’s continuing growth in the civil market.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site/civil and multi-discipline efforts on a variety of project sites, with a focus on power generation and transmission projects, including the design and oversight of site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through completion;
  • Design and permit project sites in addition to institutional, commercial, warehouse and distribution, and mixed-use projects for both public and private clients;
  • Work closely with office leadership to develop growth plans and ensure staff utilization;
  • Possess an entrepreneurial demeanor and participate in Business Development activities by developing new clients for the firm and maintaining relationships with existing clients;
  • Lead storm water management design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design, and SWPPP preparation;
  • Demonstrate experience in all aspects of land development engineering including the integration of geotechnical and environmental engineering;
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
  • 10+ years of successful, local, and related site/civil engineering experience with a concentration in land development on Power Generation and Transmission projects;
  • Professional Engineering license;
  • Site/civil experience on a variety of project sites including the ability to design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through completion;
  • Strong client development and client management abilities;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Civil 3D preferred;
  • Active participation in professional organizations;
  • Experience in technical and proposal writing;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
  • Reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Pay

Pay Range: $117,000—$171,000 USD. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.

Schedule

  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation time;
  • 10 days of paid sick time;
  • 10 paid holidays throughout the year.

Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience, and level.
