About the Role
As a Senior Civil Project Manager, you will manage a variety of Civil Engineering projects from conception to completion. You will apply your experience to all aspects of the project, including field observation, due diligence research with authorities, site layout design, utility and stormwater design techniques, permitting, and responses to inquiries during construction administration. You will coordinate with Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural Engineering departments for the development of construction documents and maintain communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects with multiple clients simultaneously, ensuring timelines are met and communicated.
- Serve as the lead point of contact for clients.
- Manage the financial performance for projects, including profit and efficiency evaluations and managing accounts receivable.
- Prepare and negotiate proposals and contracts with clients and sub-consultants.
- Manage project plans, including allocating resources, preparing and monitoring project budgets, and scheduling within project parameters.
- Identify design criteria and oversee efficient design and plan preparation.
- Solve design problems using engineering calculations and following general design standards.
- Coordinate with internal disciplines and external project teams.
- Manage, develop, and mentor Project Engineers and Designers.
- Follow QA/QC practices and procedures while identifying opportunities for improvement of quality and efficiency.
- Foster continued client relationships and explore avenues for growth with those clients.
- Participate in new client pursuits.
- Demonstrate an understanding of constructability, complex design, and identify liability issues related to design and construction.
- Provide risk assessment on projects, estimating potential risks along with costs and probabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
- P.E. license is a plus but not required.
- 10+ years of Civil Engineering Project Management experience in site/civil production, preferably with commercial projects such as retail, hospitality, and/or fueling.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience working in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to identify practical uses for company-approved AI tools to improve team processes, support better decisions, and increase efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy, protect confidential information, and remain responsible for the final work product.
