Senior Civil Engineer - Water/Wastewater

As a Senior Wastewater Engineer, you will support our Upstate NY Water Market team, build strategic business partnerships, and deliver high-profile projects with key municipal clients. You’ll lead wastewater treatment projects from concept through detailed design, construction services, and commissioning, serving as the key technical lead for projects with high technical complexity.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage teams through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout to meet scope, schedule, budget, and contract requirements.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to develop solutions for complex client challenges, leveraging Jacobs’ network of technical specialists.
- Ensure successful project completion to client and stakeholder satisfaction while adhering to Jacobs’ standards for health, safety, quality, financial performance, and risk management.
- Play a leadership role in business development, including client relationship development, proposal preparation, oral presentations, and securing new wastewater contracts.
- Contribute to market strategy development, delivering leading-edge technology solutions and expanding Jacobs’ client base.
- Demonstrate leadership with integrity and candor, fostering a Culture of Caring work environment.
- Mentor and support junior staff in the local and regional water group.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. degree in a related engineering field.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in water and wastewater treatment, water resources design, planning, and municipal consulting.
- Progressive experience leading or overseeing small to large treatment projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Strong understanding of industry-standard tools and metrics for wastewater projects, with a proven track record of leading teams to meet client expectations.
- Excellent oral and written communication, self-motivation, and team-oriented work practices.
- Strong data analysis, technical problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships that drive new and repeat business.
- Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and leading diverse teams.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $145,000.00 to $175,000.00. Individual pay within this range is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Schedule
Jacobs offers a hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations to deliver their best work. In-person interactions are valued for collaboration, culture, and client delivery.
