Senior Civil Engineer, Water Infrastructure
About the role
Stantec is seeking an experienced and versatile civil engineer with design and construction experience including stormwater, potable water, irrigation, and sanitary sewer design, plant site and other water/sewer conveyance elements. This role offers an opportunity to support critical client infrastructure improvement projects throughout Idaho and Stantec's Mountain West Region.
Responsibilities
- Lead our local civil team
- Mentor junior staff
- Prepare documentation required for stormwater permitting through local jurisdictions
- Perform quality reviews for documents in various project phases
- Assist in preparing engineering calculation reports including but not limited to: stormwater design, potable water design and sanitary sewer design
- Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants
- Coverage of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other construction administration tasks related to the civil design component of the project
- Aid in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials
- Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating
- Perform calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software
Requirements

Ability to visualize three-dimensional concepts and layouts from diagrams or drawings
Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and willingness to learn relevant software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, AdlCPR, StormCAD, WaterCAD, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Advanced degree desirable
- Registration as a Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain registration within 6 months required
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in civil or land development design projects
