Senior Civil Engineer - Land Development

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages the design team during the conceptual and development phases of projects.
  • Develops detailed action plans and resource estimates for labor, materials, and timelines required to successfully complete projects.
  • Evaluates and selects vendors based on technical competence, capabilities, resources, and financial stability.
  • Maintains project progress, comparing actual performance and costs against established estimates, and recommends adjustments as needed.
  • Pairs with the design team to revise and refine project plans in response to challenges or changing requirements.
  • Prepares and presents regular project status reports, including progress, risks, and financial updates, to senior leadership.
  • Reviews and analyzes existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to identify opportunities for efficiency, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Collaborates with operations teams to troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Coordinates with project engineers across other locations to exchange knowledge, solutions, and best practices.
  • Manages a staff of junior engineers and delegates work as needed.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • 5+ years of engineering experience with land development/site design projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida
  • Experience with Civil 3D and ICPR
