Senior Civil Engineer - Birmingham
About the role
Giffels Webster has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Oakland County office located in Birmingham, Michigan. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently on various engineering projects and assist a wide variety of client types from architects, developers, property owners and real estate professionals. You will work in a team environment led by a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager on a variety of tasks.
Responsibilities
- Site plan layout
- Geometrics
- Grading
- Pavement design
- Soil erosion and sediment control
- Utility (storm sanitary and water) design
- Stormwater management and green infrastructure design
- Traffic plans
- Details
- Record drawings and specifications
- Prepare permit applications and cost estimates
- Attend meetings
- Conduct field visits
- Perform construction administration tasks
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications: Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent amount of applicable experience
- At least 5 years of Civil Engineering experience
- Must have experience in AutoCAD software
- Exposure to Municipal and/or Private Development projects
Preferred Qualifications
- PE licensure in Michigan (or seeking to obtain)
- Experience in Civil3D
- Experience with water and sanitary design
- Experience in WaterCAD or WaterGems
- Experience working with MDOT Local Agency Programs
