Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil design activities for site development, land development, roadway systems, storm drainage systems, stormwater management facilities, utility infrastructure, airports, and industrial or commercial facilities.
- Develop and oversee detailed engineering drawings, layouts, calculations, and design documentation for projects of varying complexity.
- Prepare and review grading plans, utility layouts, erosion and sediment control plans, traffic control plans, and related civil engineering deliverables.
- Interpret engineering standards, design codes, specifications, and regulatory requirements to ensure project compliance.
- Perform and review earthwork, excavation, dredging, and site grading volume calculations.
- Cook up project design efforts to meet scope, schedule, quality, and budget objectives.
- Lead drawing production activities, including design refinement, problem analysis, and development of construction documents.
- Conduct design quality reviews and support project QA/QC processes to ensure accuracy and consistency across deliverables.
- Present technical reports, drawings, maps, surveys, and related project information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage project drawing files, revisions, and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design challenges and support successful project execution.
- Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to junior designers and design staff.
- Participate in client meetings, project planning sessions, and business development activities as needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to design best practices.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of professional civil engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.
- Experience with civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, including site development, land development, roadway systems, storm drainage systems, stormwater management facilities, utility infrastructure, airports, and industrial or commercial facilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
